Are you currently working in the Care sector and feeling undervalued and underpaid?

We are looking for individuals that have experience with Learning Disabilities and Challenging Behaviours. Our client is a lovely children's home based in Worthing.

Job Role

  • Supporting Young People to live their lives to their full potential.
  • Salary on offer is up to £30,485 per annum including sleep-ins.
  • Permanent job role with a flexible schedule with shifts including earlies, late, and long days (07:30 am to 11:00 pm)
  • Ensuring the welfare of not only the children in the home but the residential staff.
  • Lead supervisions and meetings making sure all the staff are working to their full potential.
  • As the young people are living in a home, there will be long shifts required (12 hours) plus sleeping in at the home occasionally.
  • Helping young people budget and handle money, promoting their independence before they enter adulthood.
  • Cooking healthy and nutritious meals.
  • Ensure placement plans are followed.
  • Making sure there is always sufficient staff in the service and organising rotas.
  • De-escalating situations that might arise during shift and ensuring situations are handled accordingly.
  • Being a role model to young people and spending time with them.
  • Attending any appointments with the young people.

Requirements

  • Applicants are required to have at least 2 years’ experience within residential childcare and working alongside young people.
  • Experienced with Emotional Behavioural Difficulties & challenging behaviours.
  • Level 3 in Health & Social Care or Childcare.
  • Driver with Access to a Vehicle
