Accounts Payable and Finance Assistant

Top Job is urgently seeking  an Accounts/Finance Assistant for our client based close to Witham due to their continuous expansion

The ideal candidate will have an excellent knowledge of purchase ledger and have a mature attitude to work.

Duties of the role:

  • Management of Purchase Ledger processes for UK and European operations. 
  • Processing of purchase invoices and monitoring of costs against budget, communicating variances with departmental heads and group accountants. 
  • Assist in the implementation across the group of the new purchase order and document management system. Provide ongoing assistance to operational users and liaise with suppliers to ensure processes are adhered to.
  • Liaise with suppliers and resolve any cost queries.
  • Prepare supplier payments and batch payment runs
  • Daily posting and allocation of bank transactions including foreign currency
  • Assist with balance sheet reconciliations
  • Provide support to the Group Management Accountants

Requirements:

  • Demonstrate previous experience within an Accounts Payable or similar role
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong Excel skills and competent with Sage
  • Ability to prioritise workload
  • Ability to work well within a team and as an individual.

up to £25,000 per annum.

Working hours are 9am – 5pm, with a 1 hour lunch
