Due to ongoing growth, they are looking for a skilled Auto Electrician to join their dedicated team. This role offers a unique chance to work on mission-critical vehicles, contributing to essential public service operations.
Role Summary
The ideal candidate will be a qualified and experienced Auto Electrician with the ability to inspect, install, and maintain a wide range of electrical and electronic systems in specialist vehicles. You will be involved in work such as wiring installation, lighting systems (internal and external), audio-visual equipment, telematics, mobile CCTV, and auxiliary power systems. Comprehensive training will be provided on in-house systems, alongside a mentoring period to support your onboarding and ensure successful integration.
Key Duties
Carry out efficient and safe electrical repairs and installations across multiple vehicle types.
Identify and troubleshoot complex electrical faults using diagnostic tools and systems.
Operate diagnostic equipment to pinpoint and resolve electrical issues effectively.
Work collaboratively with technicians and support teams to meet project deadlines.
Maintain a tidy and safe working environment in line with health and safety practices.
Communicate professionally with stakeholders and deliver high-quality service standards.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (e.g., IMI, City & Guilds, BTEC).
Broad experience in mechanical and electrical diagnostics and repairs.
A full UK/EU driving licence (C1 or D1 preferred) or substantial experience working with larger vehicles.
Strong background in servicing, repairing, and maintaining business-use vehicles.
Comprehensive knowledge of mechanical and electrical vehicle systems.
Desirable Qualifications
IMI Level 3 in Electric/Hybrid Vehicle Systems.
IMI Level 3 Blue Light Vehicle Installer certification.
Membership in a recognised professional body such as IMI or IRTE.
