Automation Junior/Senior Engineer

MAIN PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF THE JOB

Development of automated production equipment specifically geared to the production of miniature reed relays.

Reports To:                                          

• Automation Manager

DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Researching new technologies and new approaches to the manufacturing process of reed relays.
• Communicating within the company to identify production problem areas.
• Finding automation solutions in close collaboration with Czech & UK R&D and all production departments.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

• PLC programming, Siemens simatic S7 – Tia portal, preferable.
• Other software and programming skills would also be beneficial.
• Good understanding of electronics and basic electronic assembly.
• Good understanding of 3D CAD software, Solidworks, preferable.
• Ability to document projects, read drawings and schematics.
• Experience with robots, cobots and associated software & interfacing, preferable.
• Good communication skills.
• Problem solving abilities, by identifying problems with machines, evaluating options and implementing solutions.
• Knowledge of general engineering practices and tooling would be advantageous.
• This role requires someone with creative ability and alternative thinking, with a hands-on approach.
