Top Job Recruitment are looking for experienced Health Care Assistants or people with a caring nature wanting to work within a Residential Care Setting based in Northampton.

Our client care for elderly people, many of whom have dementia and Alzheimer’s. The client believes that qualities rather than qualifications make the best care staff, so the attributes they are looking for are:

  • Kindness and patience.
  • Sense of humour and not being afraid in joining in the fun!
  • Excellent work ethic including time keeping and attendance.
  • Understanding, sympathetic and thoughtful.

Job Role:

  • To provide the best possible care environment by promoting a warm, friendly, and homely atmosphere.
  • Have a kind caring nature to give the residents a positive and happy life within their home.
  • Bring to the attention of the manager of the home any matter, which will improve health & safety within the home.
  • Assist residents who need help with dressing, undressing, bathing, and toileting.
  • Help residents with mobility problems and other physical disabilities.
  • Promote mental and physical activities.
  • Take an active part in meetings.
  • Ensure all records are kept up to date.
  • Undertake training as required.
  • To comply with Health & Safety, COSHH and Fire regulations.
  • Abide by the policies and procedures of the home.

Skills required:

  • Previous experience working with people who suffer with Alzheimer’s and Dementia (Desirable)
  • NVQ Level 2 – Health and Social Care (Desirable)
  • Hold a full UK licence (Desirable)
  • Be self-motivation, organised, flexible and caring
  • Active team player but also able to work on own initiative

There are a variety of shifts available. Day shifts (4 or 5 short shifts a week equating to 28 or 35 hours per week). This will include a variety of early, lates or long days. This includes every other weekend with the opportunity to do overtime with excellent incentive pay on all overtime.
