This is a family run village gastro pub which has built up an excellent reputation for its friendly atmosphere and fine dining experience.

They are currently seeking a Chef De Partie/Junior Sous chef to work alongside their Head Chef; whether you are a junior looking for your next step in your career, or a senior looking to join a well-established business that you can promote your creative and innovative ideas to, then we want to hear from you. 

Duties:

  • Preparing, cooking and presenting high quality dishes
  • Assisting the Head Chef in creating menu items, recipes and developing dishes
  • Preparing meat and fish
  • Assisting with the management of health and safety
  • Assisting with the management of food hygiene practices
  • Overseeing the maintenance of kitchen and food safety standards

Requirements:

  • Level 1 and 2 Food Safety Awards
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Chef De Partie
  • Awareness of Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations (COSHH) and chemical safety
  • Good level of English spoken and written

  • Ability to work without close supervision
  • Ability to produce good quality food in all sections
  • Good oral communication
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Enthusiasm to develop your own skills and knowledge plus those around you
  • Adaptability to change and willingness to embrace new ideas and processes

  • Team player qualities

Benefits:

  • 5 day operation - closed Monday and Tuesday
  • Closed Christmas day and Boxing day
  • We close for two weeks a year for the whole team to have a break
    • 1 week in January
    • 1 week in October
  • 2 staff parties a year

Working Hours: Wednesday- Sunday (Monday & Tuesday’s off)

Salary: £ Negotiable on experience
