Job Title: Temporary Chef (Relief Cover)

Location: Dedham, Colchester

Contract Type: Temporary (6 days total)

Hours: 9:30am – 4:00pm (6 hours per day, including 30-minute break)

Pay: £14.00 – £17.00 per hour (depending on experience)

About the Role:

A busy and well-loved tea room in the Dedham area is seeking a Temporary Chef to cover six days of kitchen support during a short-term period of transition. This is an ideal role for someone with solid café or bistro kitchen experience looking for a short, flexible assignment in a friendly environment.

Confirmed Working Dates:

Week 1: Monday 9th, Tuesday 10th, Wednesday 11th June

Week 2: Monday 16th, Tuesday 17th, Wednesday 18th June

All shifts are from 9:30am to 4:00pm.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and cook breakfast and lunch service

Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene

Support front-of-house with efficient food turnaround

Assist with stock and basic kitchen duties as needed

Ideal Candidate:

Minimum 1 year of kitchen experience (café, bistro, or pub preferred)

Confident working independently or within a small team

Reliable, punctual, and professional under pressure

Holds a Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (or willing to obtain)

DBS check is a bonus but not essential

Start Date: Monday 9th June

Duration: 6 fixed days over two weeks, with possible casual shifts in future
