Top Job Recruitment are looking for a Residential Childrens Support Worker for our client based in Leiston.

This is a full time role contracted 40 hours per week across early and late shifts (07:30-15:30 and 15:00-23:00) the ideal candidate will be able to mix earlies and lates.

Role Responsibilities: As a Residential Support Worker, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Contributing to the provision of a sensitive and therapeutic residential service that meets the comprehensive needs of young people.
  • Ensuring that the care provided aligns with the organization's Statement of Purpose
  • Offering advice, guidance, and support to young individuals in maintaining boundaries, adhering to expectations, and promoting positive decision-making
  • Performing domestic tasks to maintain hygiene and ensure the building is in good condition.
  • Attending relevant meetings and actively participating in discussions
  • Empowering young people through positive role modelling and encouraging independence
  • Providing sleep-in cover as part of a team on a regular basis
  • Implementing the activities program and supporting care planning and behaviour management of children in the home
  • Accurately recording all shift events in the logbook and maintaining comprehensive incident forms and young people's logs
  • Maintaining strict confidentiality and professionalism when interacting with parents, social services, or relevant authorities
  • Managing petty cash and purchasing as necessary
  • Participating in keyworker responsibilities for assigned children.
  • Guiding and supporting children in their independence planning

Skills:

Essential skills for the role include:

  • Well-developed written and verbal communication abilities
  • Proficiency in behaviour management and knowledge of safeguarding practices

Desirable skills:

  • Valid driving license
  • Level 3 Diploma in Children's Workforce or commitment to undertaking this qualification.
