CNC Setter – 5 Axis Milling
Location: Clacton-on-Sea, Essex
Salary: £32,500 – £35,000 per annum, depending on experience
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

About the Role:
Top Job Recruitment is pleased to be partnering with a leading precision engineering company in Clacton-on-Sea, seeking an experienced CNC Setter to join their 5-Axis Milling team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a technically skilled individual who thrives in a high-quality, fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and prepare 5-Axis vertical milling machines for production, ensuring optimal performance, accuracy, and quality.

  • Perform first-off and in-process inspections using a range of metrology equipment and gauges.

  • Provide a structured handover to machine operators and assist them with technical support when needed.

  • Collaborate with the wider team to meet production targets and dispatch schedules.

  • Conduct routine maintenance and housekeeping of machines and work areas.

  • Deburr and package finished components to precise customer specifications.

  • Ensure all work complies with health, safety, and environmental standards.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience setting CNC 5-Axis milling machines.

  • Familiarity with at least one of the following controls: Heidenhain (preferred), Winmax, or Haas.

  • Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings.

  • Proficient with inspection tools and interpreting dimensional data, ideally with knowledge of GD&T.

  • Experience with tooling and workholding methods suited to precision milling operations.

  • Able to manage time effectively and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
