CNC Wood Machinist / Operator

Hours: Monday to Friday 7am - 4pm

Top Job Recruitment is currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established bespoke joinery company based in Colchester for an experienced CNC Wood Machinist / Operator. The Role

As a CNC Wood Machinist / Operator, you will be responsible for setting, operating and maintaining CNC woodworking machinery to manufacture bespoke joinery products. Working from technical drawings, you will ensure components are produced accurately, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC woodworking machinery.
• Manufacture bespoke joinery products, including doors, frames, cabinets and other timber components.
• Read and interpret technical drawings and production specifications.
• Monitor machining processes and carry out quality inspections.
• Ensure components are produced accurately and within required tolerances.
• Change tooling and carry out machine adjustments where required.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and keep equipment clean and well maintained.
• Work closely with the production team to meet deadlines.
• Maintain a safe and organised working environment.
• Follow all Health & Safety procedures and company policies.

About You

The successful candidate will have:

• Previous experience as a CNC Wood Machinist, CNC Operator or CNC Setter within a joinery or woodworking environment.
• Experience operating CNC woodworking machinery such as Homag, Weeke, Biesse, SCM, Masterwood or similar.
• The ability to read and interpret technical and manufacturing drawings.
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
• A proactive attitude and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• A positive work ethic and willingness to contribute to a busy production environment.

Desirable:

• Experience manufacturing bespoke joinery, cabinetry, doors or architectural woodwork.
