Top Job Colchester are currently seeking a Credit Controller within the Finance team for a leading Manufacturer just outside of Colchester town.

As a Credit Controller your main purpose is to maintain an effective and professional credit control system for the Company and Sales Ledger.

Daily tasks to include:

  • Meet cash and debtor day targets set.
  • Ensure that debts are paid in a timely manner.
  • Chase overdue invoices by telephone, email and letter within agreed timescales.
  • Handle disputed bills and negotiate to bring payment within the agreed terms.
  • Ensure monthly processing deadlines are met as required.
  • Support key relationships with external Customers, Bank and Auditors as appropriate.
  • Prepare files for transfer to the Debt Recovery Department.

This is not an exhaustive list and you will be expected to be flexible in your approach to carrying out your duties.

What you will need to succeed

  • Good knowledge of Excel including the use of spreadsheets
  • Experience with customer communication both verbally and written
  • To be able to work as part of a team
  • Must be an enthusiastic, committed individual
  • Ability to work under pressure and to meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to work using own initiative and with others
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

 

What you can expect in return

The successful candidate should have at least 1 year’s accounts experience and an excellent knowledge of Excel.
