Data Entry Administrative Assistant

We are recruiting for a full-time, permanent Office Data entry and Administrative Assistant to join an established and growing business.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied administrative role and is looking to become an important part of a small, friendly team. No previous industry-specific knowledge is required, as full training will be provided.

The role is 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 08:00–17:00, and offers a competitive salary along with 28 days’ annual leave, including bank holidays.

The Role

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you’ll provide day-to-day administrative and customer support, helping to ensure orders, customer enquiries, deliveries and general office processes are managed efficiently.

You’ll have a varied workload and will work closely with different members of the team, making this an ideal position for someone who is organised, practical and confident communicating with customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and amend customer sales orders
  • Liaise with customers by phone and email
  • Respond to incoming sales enquiries
  • Generate courier and delivery bookings
  • Update and maintain customer records
  • Maintain company spreadsheets and administrative records
  • Support the Accounts Manager with credit control
  • Reconcile goods received and relevant documentation
  • Assist with customer returns
  • Prepare quotations under guidance
  • Provide general administrative support to the wider team

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who is proactive, organised and willing to learn, with a positive attitude and excellent attention to detail.

Ideally, you’ll have:

  • Previous experience within administration, sales support or customer service would be advantageous, but is not essential
  • A can-do attitude and willingness to learn
  • Excellent attention to detail and a logical approach to your work
  • A confident and professional telephone manner
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Good numeracy skills
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook
  • The ability to work accurately to deadlines and manage multiple priorities
  • The confidence to take ownership of your responsibilities
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a small, friendly team
