Top Job Recruitment are currently looking for a Deputy Manager to work for one of our clients in a Therapeutic children’s home located in Canterbury.

The deputy manager’s role will be to work under the registered manager in supporting with the running of the Children’s Home ensuring its always running smoothly. A successful candidate will be a positive role model for other members of staff. They will need to be a good leader and be able to delegate, supervise and assess other staff members.

A successful applicant will be good at timekeeping, calm under pressure and confident to make decisions. 

Hours and Salary-

  • 40 hours per week – Full time.
  • Adhering to a monthly rota.
  • On-call duty rota as directed by the home’s manager.
  • £34,160 to £36,160 per annum (this salary is inclusive of 2 sleep-in shifts per week)

Roles and Responsibilities-

  • Representing the home and having effective communication with other professionals such as social workers, education, and health care professionals.
  • Work with the children’s family and parents.
  • Supervise team leaders and be responsible for their performance and training.
  • Help the manager with finalising the rota.

Qualifications and Experience-

  • Hold a Level 3 in Health and Social Care, Children and Young People or equivalent with the ambition to work towards their Level 5.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of a childcare residential setting.
  • Knowledge of equal opportunities and diversity models.
  • Knowledge of The Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 & Guide to the Children’s Homes Regulations including the Quality Standards.
