Top Job Recruitment is currently looking for an enthusiastic and energetic individual to work as a Deputy Manager in a 6 bedded children’s home based on the outskirts of Colchester.

This beautifully built home is based in a quite village and has recently been refurbed opening in July 2022. With space for 6 children, 2 staff sleep rooms (both with ensuites), 3 living spaces and a modern kitchen. The home is situated on plot of land allowing enough room for activities such as football, chickens and a separate building built purely for therapy sessions.

The home supports children between the ages of 10-16 who have struggled with childhood trauma and need a friendly face to turn to with their concerns.

Shift patterns are Monday – Friday.

Job Role-

  • Supporting Young People to live their lives to their full potential.
  • The salary on offer is up to £32,000 per annum. 
  • Helping young people budget and handle money, promoting their independence before they enter adulthood.
  • Supporting the registered manager with daily tasks such as planning rotas and activities.
  • De-escalating situations that might arise during shift and ensuring situations are handled accordingly.
  • Having fun and making their daily lives as bright as the next.
  • Being a role model to young people and spending time with them.
  • Attending appointments with the young people.

Requirements-

  • Hold a full UK driving licence.
  • Must be aged 22 or older (due safeguarding)
  • Hold a Level 3 in Residential Childcare.
  • At least 2 years’ experience within Residential Childcare.
