Location: Mersea, Colchester (Hybrid after Training)

Salary: £38,000 - £45,000 DOE + Performance Bonus + Car Allowance + Private Healthcare

We're recruiting on behalf of a growing ERP consultancy that specialises in finance systems and business transformation. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong finance or accounting background who wants to build a long-term career in ERP consulting.

No previous ERP consulting experience is required. Full training will be provided.

About the Role

This isn't your typical finance position.

Rather than focusing solely on month-end reporting and routine accounting tasks, you'll become a trusted Finance ERP Consultant, helping businesses improve their financial processes through the successful implementation of ERP software.

Working alongside experienced consultants, you'll receive structured training while supporting projects from discovery through to implementation, training and go-live.

Projects typically last between 6-9 months, giving you the opportunity to build long-term client relationships and see the full implementation lifecycle.

This is a consultancy role, meaning you'll work directly with clients across the UK, understanding how their finance functions operate and helping them get the very best from their ERP systems.

There are no sales or business development responsibilities. Your focus will be on delivering successful projects and providing an excellent client experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Support ERP implementation projects from planning through to go-live
• Work with finance teams to understand existing business processes
• Configure finance systems and assist with data migration
• Deliver user training and ongoing system support
• Identify opportunities to improve finance processes and efficiencies
• Build strong, long-term relationships with clients
• Work closely with senior consultants while developing your own consultancy skills

About You

This role would suit someone who enjoys finance but is looking for a more varied and rewarding career.

You may currently be working as a:

• Management Accountant
• Assistant Management Accountant
• Systems Accountant
• Finance Analyst
• Financial Accountant
• Finance Business Partner
• Assistant Finance Manager
• Practice Accountant
• Or in a similar accounting or finance role

You'll ideally have:

• A solid understanding of accounting principles
• Experience preparing management accounts
• Month-end and/or year-end reporting experience
• Knowledge of journals, accruals and prepayments
• Strong Excel skills
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• A genuine interest in technology and process improvement
• A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to client sites

Previous ERP experience would be advantageous but is not essential, as full training will be provided.

Training & Career Development

You'll receive comprehensive training and mentoring from experienced ERP Consultants and senior leadership.

As your knowledge and confidence develop, you'll begin managing your own client projects and continue progressing within the business.

Career progression is based on your performance, ability and willingness to learn, rather than time served.

Typical progression includes:

• Entry Level Consultant: £35,000 - £40,000
• Consultant: £40,000 - £45,000
• Senior Consultant: £45,000 - £60,000
• Principal Consultant: £80,000 - £90,000+

Working Pattern

During your initial 3-6 month training period, you'll be based full-time at the Mersea office to ensure you receive the support and hands-on training needed to succeed.

Following successful completion of your training, you'll move to a hybrid working arrangement, typically spending around 2 days working from home and 3 days in the office or visiting client sites, depending on project requirements.
