Location: Predominantly Remote (Occasional travel to Mersea for onboarding and team collaboration)

Salary: £35,000 - £42,000 DOE

We’re recruiting on behalf of a growing consultancy that’s looking for an FP&A Finance Consultant to join its expanding team.

Unlike a traditional in-house FP&A role, you’ll work with a portfolio of clients across a variety of industries, acting as a trusted finance partner to help businesses understand their numbers, improve performance and plan for future growth.

About the Role

As an FP&A Finance Consultant, you’ll manage a portfolio of clients, supporting them with financial planning, forecasting and business analysis.

Working closely with business owners and finance teams, you’ll provide meaningful financial insight, helping clients understand their performance and make informed strategic decisions.

Although you’ll build relationships with your clients, this role is less client-facing than our ERP Consultant opportunity and is focused much more on delivering high-quality financial analysis and commercial support.

The role is predominantly remote, with occasional travel for onboarding, team meetings and client requirements where appropriate.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of SME clients
• Prepare budgets, forecasts and cash flow projections
• Produce monthly management information and performance reporting
• Deliver variance analysis and identify financial trends
• Develop financial models and KPI dashboards
• Support strategic planning and commercial decision-making
• Present financial insights clearly to clients and stakeholders
• Identify opportunities to improve financial performance and reporting processes
• Build trusted relationships with clients, becoming an extension of their finance function

About You

We’re looking for someone with a strong finance background who enjoys using financial information to solve business problems and influence decision-making.

You might currently be working as a:

• FP&A Analyst
• Finance Analyst
• Management Accountant
• Finance Business Partner
• Commercial Finance Analyst
• Assistant Management Accountant
• Financial Analyst
• Or in a similar commercially focused finance role

You’ll ideally have:

• Strong management accounting or FP&A experience
• Budgeting and forecasting knowledge
• Experience producing management accounts
• Excellent Excel skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
• The confidence to explain financial information to non-finance stakeholders
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• A proactive and commercially minded approach
