Top Job Recruitment are looking for a Goods Out Coordinator and Driver for a company based in Colchester, Essex.

As a Goods Out Coordinator and Driver you will be well-presented, courteous, conscientious, and helpful with the team around them or with customers on site deliveries. You will be able to learn product knowledge over time to ensure a good understanding of items and build rapport with regular customers. You will be highly organised with strong attention to detail and accuracy, with a desire to provide excellent customer service. You will have a good knowledge of driving a Luton van and have a full, clean, and current driving licence. You will be punctual for daily start time and flexible around working hours for deliveries due to traffic problems and last-minute delivery changes. This is a long-term, full-time opportunity and the candidate should be willing to commit to our company and the team around them.

Goods Out Coordinator and Driver Job Role

Responsible for post-check process of after-sales and remedial items for customers

  • Aid Goods In department by unwrapping, checking, and organising items
  • Arrange for items to be ready for despatch by drilling, wrapping, and coordinating any other factory processes
  • Drop off items to courier/post office services
  • Liaise with Office and other driver to schedule deliveries
  • Liaise professionally with customers to arrange deliveries
  • Ensure all paperwork and delivery processes are implemented and followed thoroughly
  • Any additional duties required by the business

Responsible for local kitchen deliveries to showrooms and houses

  • Support colleague (driver) for longer distance deliveries around South-East during periods of their annual leave
  • Aid customers unloading goods on site
  • Aid loading of kitchens in factory
  • Ensure all relevant delivery paperwork completed and provided to office with notification of any issues or further details
  • Ensure loads are safely secured
  • Complete vehicle check sheets and inform management of any issues with vehicles
  • Arrange and take vehicles to and from servicing appointments
  • Arrange any work to be carried out following MOT & service appointments


Goods Out Coordinator and Driver Skills Required

  • Professional and excellent communication skills with team members and customers
  • Trustworthiness and reliability
  • Excellent organisational skills with ability to be proactive and understand processes easily
  • Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects
  • Forklift licence desirable but not essential (should be willing to obtain qualification)
  • Full, clean, and current driving licence
  • Over 25 years old (for insurance purposes)
  • Excellent driving skills
  • Able to leave early morning and have flexible working hours
  • Knowledge of towns and roads on a South-East of England map
  • Able to follow traffic reports and change route if necessary
  • Good understanding of safety on the road, and when loading and unloading


Goods Out Coordinator and Driver additional information

  • Monday to Friday (no weekends) 40 hour week
  • Start around 8am to 4.20pm for the first 3 months however then could be from 7am
  • 6-month probation
  • 28 days holiday including 8 bank holidays.  We ask the team to reserve 5 of their days for Christmas where we have approx 1 ½ week shutdown
  • Government pension
