Job Title: Handyman / Warehouse Operative
Location: Braintree, Essex
Contract: Temporary (Minimum 12 Weeks) – Opportunity for Permanent Role
Pay: Competitive – Based on Experience

We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established supplier of building materials serving customers across the UK. Based out of their busy warehouse in Braintree, they are looking to bring a Handyman / Warehouse Operative on board for an initial 12-week assignment, with the strong possibility of a permanent position for the right candidate.

Role Overview:

This is a hands-on, varied role ideal for someone with a background in a specific trade (e.g. carpentry, plumbing, electrical). Day-to-day tasks will include general handyman duties around the warehouse and premises, supporting with warehouse operations such as picking and packing, and occasional local delivery driving.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out general maintenance and handyman work within the warehouse and office areas

  • Assist with warehouse operations including order picking and packing

  • Complete ad hoc deliveries in a company van as required

  • Maintain a clean, safe and efficient work environment

  • Work both independently and as part of a close-knit team

Candidate Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a specific trade or practical hands-on role

  • A clean UK driving licence is essential

  • Reliable, physically fit and comfortable with manual work

  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic

  • Good communication and time management skills

Desirable (Not Essential):

  • Forklift licence (Counterbalance or Reach)

Additional Details:

  • Immediate start available

  • Minimum 12-week contract

  • Strong potential to move into a permanent role based on performance and fit
