Job Title: Handyman / Warehouse Operative

We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established supplier of building materials serving customers across the UK. Based out of their busy warehouse in Braintree, they are looking to bring a Handyman / Warehouse Operative on board for an initial 12-week assignment, with the strong possibility of a permanent position for the right candidate.
This is a hands-on, varied role ideal for someone with a background in a specific trade (e.g. carpentry, plumbing, electrical). Day-to-day tasks will include general handyman duties around the warehouse and premises, supporting with warehouse operations such as picking and packing, and occasional local delivery driving.
Carry out general maintenance and handyman work within the warehouse and office areas
Assist with warehouse operations including order picking and packing
Complete ad hoc deliveries in a company van as required
Maintain a clean, safe and efficient work environment
Work both independently and as part of a close-knit team
Proven experience in a specific trade or practical hands-on role
A clean UK driving licence is essential
Reliable, physically fit and comfortable with manual work
Positive attitude and strong work ethic
Good communication and time management skills
Forklift licence (Counterbalance or Reach)
Immediate start available
Minimum 12-week contract
Strong potential to move into a permanent role based on performance and fit
