Job Role:

  • Deliver sensitive, appropriate and high quality patient care under the direction of qualified nursing staff which respects the patient’s privacy, dignity and religious and cultural beliefs.
  • Maintain and promote a safe working environment for patients, visitors and staff, with particular reference to infection control and health and safety.
  • Contribute to the effective management of information ensuring it is handled and exchanged with care, accuracy and sensitivity, maintaining patient and clinical confidentiality at all times.
  • Maintain effective communication both within the care team and between colleagues, patients, relatives and visitors.
  • Assist in maintaining stores at agreed levels and ensure that repairs and replacements are ordered by appropriate reporting.
  • Maintain and promote effective communication both within the multidisciplinary care team and with other colleagues, patients, relatives and visitors.
  • Infection Prevention & Control
  • Safeguarding Children, Young People & Vulnerable Adults

Skills Required

  • NVQ level 2 Heath and Social – Desirable
  • Mandatory Training Certificates ( Basic Life Support, Medication Management, Infection Control, Safeguarding Adults and Children Level 1) if you do not have updated training, we can help support your training and issue all certificates and reimburse the cost of £26 after a total of 100 hours have been worked.
  • Understanding of confidentiality and implications of noncompliance.
  • Knowledge of health and safety issues in own work environment.
  • Experience working in a caring environment - Desirable
  • Experience working as a /Health Care Assistant - Desirable
  • Experience working in intermediate care - Desirable
  • Literate and numerate.
  • Ability to provide high quality patient care.
  • Effective oral/written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Enthusiasm for working with elderly/rehabilitation patients.
  • Ability to empathise with patients.
  • Compassionate and caring. Initiative
  • Willing and able to work shifts, including night duty, weekends and Bank Holidays.
  • Willing to work across the Community Hospitals sites to enhance personal and professional development and support safer staffing.
