Job Title: HGV Mechanic
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £43,000.00-£48,000.00 per year
Schedule: 10-hour shift, 8-hour shift, Monday to Friday, Weekend availability
Experience: HGV Mechanic - 3 years (required)

Job Description:

As an HGV Mechanic, you will play a pivotal role in keeping the fleet of trucks and trailers in top condition. Your responsibilities will include:

Key Responsibilities: 

1. Perform Preventive Maintenance Inspections and servicing within schedule, adhering 
to VOSA Standards.
2. Prepare the fleet of trucks and trailers for MOT tests.
3. Effectively manage job issues and problems in real-time to maintain the quality of 
repairs and minimize variances versus budgets.
4. Provide diagnostic and technical diagnoses and accurately specify repair solutions.
5. Specify repair solutions for defects or minor issues found during service or other 
planned work.
6. Be available for emergency callouts for vehicle recovery.
7. Occasionally work on forklifts repairs.

Required Competences:

1. Must have at least 1.5 years of experience in the commercial industry repairing HGVs.
2. Effective communication skills at all levels, both written and verbal.
3. Ability to understand and analyse technical issues and propose appropriate solutions.
4. Good knowledge of Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations.
5. Flexibility to handle varying workloads that may arise.
6. HGV driving license (preferred).
7. IRTEC qualification or equivalent (preferred)
