Job Title: Junior Estimator
Top Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Junior Estimator on behalf of a well-established and growing manufacturing company based in Colchester. This is an excellent temporary-to-permanent opportunity for someone looking to build or further their career in estimating. The Role
As a Junior Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate quotations, interpreting architectural drawings, producing production schedules, and supporting customers throughout the enquiry and quotation process. Working closely with the sales, purchasing, and project teams, you'll ensure customer enquiries are handled efficiently while maintaining a high level of accuracy and service.Key Responsibilities
- Produce accurate quotations and detailed production schedules.
- Interpret architectural drawings and prepare door schedules.
- Analyse customer enquiries and generate quotations promptly.
- Liaise with customers regarding quotations, delivery schedules and project requirements.
- Work closely with internal sales, purchasing and project teams.
- Verify specifications, pricing schedules and technical details.
- Prepare product specifications and supporting documentation.
- Chase outstanding information to ensure project deadlines are achieved.
- Follow up previous quotations to maximise order opportunities.
- Maintain accurate electronic and paper-based records.
- Provide general administrative support to the office team.
- Comply with all Health & Safety procedures.
About You - The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience within an estimating, sales support or customer-facing role (essential).
- Experience within a manufacturing environment (desirable).
- Experience interpreting architectural drawings (desirable).
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong numerical ability and exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- The ability to prioritise workloads and meet tight deadlines.
- A proactive attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A minimum of 3 GCSEs (or equivalent), including Maths and English.
