Top Job Recruitment are looking for Machine Technician for a company that are based in Colchester.

As the Machine Technician you would be responsible for the safe & efficient running of equipment to targeted outputs, whilst ensuring quality standards are met while ensuring machines have adequate raw materials.

 Job role:

  • Responsible for running tube making machines.
  • Loading materials - components and web.
  • Clearing jams and re-starting machines on designated machines for which satisfactory training has been received.
  • Ability to operate production equipment and contribute towards the achievement of required outputs, productivity, quality and customer standards.
  • Carrying out line clearance inspection in accordance with Company Procedures
  • Reporting all machinery and tooling faults
  • Accurately set and adjust the machine in accordance with the Company Procedures and critical parameters within the scope of the training provided.
  • Comply with company quality procedures
  • Ensure all documentation and labels are correct from receipt through production process
  • Ensure that all materials and products are correctly identified.
  • Ensure finished product is packed into the correct packaging form and correctly identified
  • Carry out visual quality checks as part of the in process control procedures.
  • Ensure that any faults found, or where product is outside technical specifications, that machinery is stopped, and fault rectified.
  • Inform the person they are responsible to immediately of any accidents/incidents, near misses, environmental contamination or damage to plant, production machinery, equipment and buildings in their area, whether an injury was sustained or not.
  • Attend training sessions and courses on health, safety, environmental and fire precautionary arrangements.
  • Responsibility for shop floor training of Process Operators

Skills Required:

  • Extensive machine technician experience
  • Interpersonal skills suitable for leading a production team
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Have previous experience of working in a controlled manufacturing environment, preferably involving good standards of hygiene & housekeeping
  • Have experience or knowledge of Quality Control activities and procedures
  • Have experience or knowledge of cGMP and ISO 9001
