We are working with a leading, high-end independent garage offering professional automotive services. Their workshops are heated and air-conditioned, equipped with OE diagnostic systems for over 30 manufacturers, on-site machining, engine and gearbox build clean rooms, electronics repair areas, and a dedicated valeting/detailing facility.

They pride themselves on continual investment in technology, delivering excellent customer service, and maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable workspace.

Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Master Technician on behalf of our client to work alongside the existing Master Technician/Owner in a dedicated diagnostic area. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently on complex projects or collaboratively on multi-faceted tasks, demonstrating advanced diagnostic and technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct advanced diagnostics and repairs using OE and manufacturer-specific equipment.
  • Collaborate with the team or work independently on complex projects.
  • Adapt quickly to new vehicle architectures and multi-brand systems (training provided if required).
  • Ensure all work is completed to the highest standard, maintaining workshop safety and quality.
  • Mentor junior staff as needed and contribute to continuous improvement of workshop processes.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Master Technician.
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills across multiple vehicle systems.
  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively on complex projects.
  • Excellent communication and team-working skills.
  • Full and clean driving license (minor speeding fines considered).

Location: Colchester
Salary: Up to £55,000 per annum DOE
Contract: Full-time, permanent
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5:30pm
Holiday: 22 days + Bank Holidays (Christmas closure included)
