Top Job Recruitment are looking for a Registered Mental Health Nurse to work in a Rehabilitation Hospital for service users who suffer from a psychotic illness ( schizophrenia, bi-polar disorder, dual diagnosis). 

The service is a large, detached house with an additional newly built annex within the grounds. There are a number of facilities available including a library, multi-purpose room, therapy studios and grounds. The hospital is situated local to the high street, shopping, leisure activities and a rail link.

The hospital has 30 registered beds and provides treatment for both patients with mental health issues. The unit is designated a High dependency service also known as restricted access or locked rehabilitation.

Up to £45,000 per annum for a Registered Mental Health Nurse for the right person.

Uniform Provided for Mental Health Nurses

Hours: 40 - 48 hours per week available 

Shifts: Days are 08:30 - 20:00 and Nights are worked from 20:00 – 08:30 with one paid 1-hour break.

You will:

  • Accurately assess the needs of residents and identify priorities of care. 
  • Administer all medication and treatments within the NMC guidelines.
  • Ensure that residents care plans are completed and maintained in conjunction with residents, relatives and other health care professionals
  • Report any ill-health amongst residents and make requests for GP/professional visit where necessary.

Criteria / Person Specification

About you:

  • Proven experience of working in a Mental Health setting (hospital, drug, and alcohol hospital). 
  • A good team player
  • 1+ Year Registered Mental Health Nurse registration
  • Well-developed time management and leadership skills
  • Good health and fitness.
  • The ability to empathize with people.
  • Good understanding of the theories of mental health and illness.
  • Excellent teamwork skills
