MOT Tester / Technician – Fitter

Their workshops are fully heated and air-conditioned, featuring industry-leading equipment, OE diagnostic tools for over 30 manufacturers, on-site machining, engine and gearbox build clean rooms, a full parts department, petrol and diesel injection testing, electronics repair, and a dedicated valeting/detailing facility.

Role Overview:

We are recruiting an MOT Tester / Technician – Fitter to join the client’s professional team. The successful candidate will carry out MOT testing, servicing, and repairs to a high standard, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and excellent customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform MOTs in compliance with regulations, maintaining a clean MOT testing record.
• Conduct general servicing and component replacements according to manufacturer instructions.
• Accurately diagnose defects and required work, documenting findings clearly.
• Execute basic technical/fitter tasks, including clutches, timing belts/chains, brakes, etc.
• Maintain pride and professionalism in all work.
• Work efficiently to meet reasonable completion times.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as an MOT Tester/Technician/Fitter.
• Own a sufficient set of personal tools (no special tools required; company tools provided).
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
• Full and clean driving license (minor speeding fines considered).
• Multi-brand experience is advantageous but not essential; willingness to learn new systems.

Location: Colchester
Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum
Contract: Full-time, permanent
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5:30pm
Holiday: 22 days + Bank Holidays (Christmas closure included)
