Top Job Recruitment are looking for a Multi-skilled Engineer to join an engineering company based in Colchester.

As the Multi-skilled Engineer, you will be expected to support all aspects of the production of the presses and on-site maintenance of equipment and plant.

Multi-skilled Engineer Main duties and responsibilities

• As a senior member of staff, you will support the team with production illustrating best practices and guidance to our trainees on all aspects of production, maintenance and manufacturing.
• Build presses to clients spec.
• Be the emergency contact for breakdowns on site and attend to make sure teams are up and running as fast as possible.
• Plan maintenance to plant to ensure breakdowns are kept to a minimum.
• Understand and interpret drawings and specifications as relayed by works/production orders. Resolve any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise at any time Communicating and liaising effectively with colleagues
• Thinking both creatively and logically to help your team resolve design and development problems.

Multi-skilled Engineer Specification:

• Basic engineering machine shop skills with previous experience using lathes, vertical mills and surface grinders
• Basic electrical knowledge
• Fitting and mechanical skills
• Previous experience in the use of benders, guillotines, bandsaws and offhand grinders

Multi-skilled Engineer Desirable skills

• Previous assembly role
• Plc programming
• Fault finding and diagnostics
• Pneumatics or hydraulics experience
• Solidworks
• Working from engineering drawings
• Basic computer literacy
