Main support to Director in running aspects of business by managing certain duties and appointments. Managing small office team and being main point of contact between office and factory departments to ensure smooth running of incoming and outgoing products at all times.

Main role & duties

  • Daily assistance to Director
  • Organising appointments with and for Director
  • Administration and organisation of aspects of HR, Health & Safety and Payroll
  • Manage office team in all duties, workload and annual leave/absences
  • Daily management of all main product sales and after-sales add ons
  • Learning all office roles to support during busy periods and absences
  • Welcome customers and assist in showroom, offering advice on products
  • Generate quotes and orders

General duties

  • Respond to incoming queries via phone and email
  • Learn product knowledge and attend training sessions (on & off site) as required
  • General office and housekeeping duties
  • Short trips outside office to couriers/post office/customers/suppliers
  • Other duties that may arise over time to meet the needs of the business

Skillset

The applicant for this role should have excellent communication and leadership skills to effectively manage people and should be confident in building and maintaining relationships with customers, suppliers and colleagues to help with products and resolve issues. They should have an excellent ability to manage their workload and time efficiently and help others do the same, especially during busier periods. Effective IT skills and communication skills, over the phone, via email and face to face, are essential and they should be able to competently write letters and emails to discuss projects and resolve issues in a highly professional manner with absolute attention to detail, tone, spelling and grammar. They should be able to learn quickly, retain knowledge well and have a positive outlook. They will be a trustworthy individual, who is professional in all aspects of their role. A driving licence and car is required. Experience in manufacturing sector is preferred, but not essential. Two years of official, or unofficial, management experience is ideally required.

Salary £25k+ dependant on experience

28 days annual leave including bank holidays.  Shutdown at Christmas for approx 1 ½ weeks

Government pension

Full time 40 hour week position, 9am-5.30pm
