op Job Recruitment are looking for a Registered Children’s Home Manager for a Therapeutic Home based in Sandy

The home provides therapeutic residential care and support which focuses on understanding and addressing the underlying needs of young people rather than on their behaviours and difficulties.

If you have a history of being responsible for the effective development and delivery of high-quality residential services to young people and their families then this could be the role for you!

Job role:

  • To Registered with Ofsted and deliver high standards of Support/Care.
  • Be fully compliant with legislative and regulatory requirements particularly The Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards 2015.
  • The post holder is responsible for ensuring that all child protection policies are adhered to and concerns are raised in accordance with these policies.
  • To be responsible for the day to day operation/management of an Ofsted regulated residential provision.
  • To ensure the highest standards of emotional, social and physical care, promoting best outcomes for young people
  • To deliver highly motivated leadership and development to the team for which you are responsible.
  • To ensure that the staff team adhere to training requirements and timescales
  • To take overall responsibility for all regulatory requirements associated with Ofsted registration and the home’s Statement of Purpose.
  • To ensure all safeguarding risks are acted upon in immediately and the relevant action taken to mitigate the risk.
  • Ensuring that the Educational needs of children in residence are assessed and provided for
  • Work with Head of Care to consider and manage labour costs, staffing structures, planned and actual rota, ensuring they meet requirements of the children’s needs
  • To ensure leadership and management of staff including annual appraisal
  • Establish and ensure maintenance of children’s records, referrals and planning, care planning documentation.
  • Work in partnership with other professionals and external agencies and develop and maintain a positive public relations image for the organisation
  • Ensure the home is always compliant and ready for regulatory inspections 
  • Achieve and maintain an Ofsted rating of at least Good.
  • Ensure clear, consistent and professional record keeping, including audit
  • Ensure that complaints are handled quickly, effectively and sensitively in line with policies and procedures.  
  • Ensure that participation in a range of therapeutic, social and recreational activities/opportunities for individual or groups of young people is encouraged
  • Will be expected to report to the Directors and attend monthly management meetings.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of legislation, national and local policies and practices in relation to working with looked after children and supported housing provisions
  • The ability to travel independently to a variety of premises

Skills Required:

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a position relevant to the residential care of children
  • At?least 2 year in a role supervising and managing staff
  • NVQ Level 3 In Children and Young Peoples work force
  • LEVEL 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (England)
  • A “Good” or “Outstanding” grade within your recent Ofsted Inspections
  • Extensive experience with working with young people with EBD
  • Full drivers licence
