REGISTERED CHILDRENS HOME MANAGER(£45,000 per annum)

Location :- Sudbury .

Qualification :- Level 5 in Childrens residential management

Experience :- 2 years of experience working with EBD

40 hours per week

Full time , permanent .

The role also comes with additional bonuses of £3000 pounds .

  1. To manage Children’s Home services within the
  2. Deliver high quality care to the children resident within the
  3. Demonstrate strong leadership of staff to provide best outcomes for
  4. To contribute to the development of plans and strategies for children’s services both locally and countywide, working corporately with other departments and
  5. To be compliant with Children’s Homes Regulations including the quality standards, 2015
  6. To ensure Home is Ofsted compliant
  7. Ensure the home is adhering to all organizational policies and
  8. Designated Safeguarding Lead within their registered home and part of the wider Safeguarding management team within the organization
  1. Provide leadership and coaching in childcare practice within the home to ensure the best outcomes for children and young people
  2. Mentor and support the Deputy Manager and Senior Residential Childcare Workers and residential support workers in the provision of the best possible childcare practices
  3. Ensure that all of the clients care home policies and procedures are implemented appropriately
  1. To achieve the best outcomes for all children and young people, ensure that the home is managed effectively and efficiently in a warm and caring manner
  2. Ensure the Seniors and Residential Childcare staff are focused on providing the best childcare for the children and young people
  3. Ensure full participation and co-operation with our clients comprehensive and integrated Quality Assurance systems, including taking responsibility for all duties associated with regulatory This includes the annual inspection process
  4. Complete regular Reg 45 quality of care reports
  1. Ensure the home has a development plan informed through the quality assurance
  2. Ensure that Reg 44 visits happen monthly and that the recommendations are actioned within the timescales set
  3. Make sure that best practice is maintained by conducting regular quality assurance
  4. Sustain and develop the administration systems, recording systems, and repair work, so that a warm and caring home environment is maintained
  5. Ensure appropriate matching of children and young people to home and current group
  1. Supervise and support the staff group ensuring that the team are developed appropriately to meet the specific needs of children and young people in the home
  2. With the Deputy Manager and/or Seniors, ensure that staff supervision continues to support both childcare delivery and staff development
  3. Develop individual staff training programs in line with company plans and needs and supervise/provide observations for staff through their CYP Level 3 Award in Children and Young People
  4. Complete probationary and annual performance appraisals for all staff to ensure that they are able to continue to provide appropriate levels of childcare
  5. Ensure there is a full cohort of staff at all times that are suitably qualified and experienced to undertake the role
  6. To implement the Health & Safety policies and ensure that all staff are aware of all Health & Safety procedures
  7. To undertake risk assessments as appropriate
  8. Undertake any other duties that may be required
  9. Ensuring training agreement documents are signed and filed in staffs personal
  1. Children living in the home, their families and significant
  2. Reporting to the Head of Service for Children’s Accommodation
  3. Staff at the home
  4. Social Workers, Social Care Managers
  5. Partner agencies

Strategic Management

  1. To contribute to the development of plans and strategies for Children’s Home services on a county basis in conjunction with senior managers in
  2. Accountable to the Operational manager and director for Children’s Accommodation for agreed areas of project/development work across the
  3. Attendance in an advisory capacity for panels and working groups in order to promote partnership working and consistency in meeting the needs of children eg. Foster care panel, accommodation panel, Missing from Care working
  1. Act as Department Representative, networking and promoting the Children’s Homes
  2. To be responsible as the Registered Manager under The Children’s Homes Regulations including the quality standards, 2015 and compliant with Ofsted reporting and
  3. Implement and contribute to the County Council’s CYP program of Making Every Intervention
  4. Ensure there is a live Service Improvement Plan (SIP) for the registered home
  • Ensure effective operational links with other statutory and voluntary agencies including the Youth Offending Service, Health, Education, Police and
  • Manage the Safeguarding of children, attendance and report writing for LADO meetings, Risk Strategy meetings and Child Protection Conferences and following Working Together to Safeguard Children, 2018
  • To monitor Quality Assurance and compliance for Ofsted, Regulation including the quality standards 33 and 34 reporting, Schedule 5 reporting, Statement of Purpose updates and manage and contribute to the policies for the Children’s Accommodation and Support
  • To provide cover and manage the CHOOHS (out of hours on call service).
  • To be flexible with your hours of work in order to provide leadership and management in the home when it is most
  • To ensure all safer recruitment The Disclosure and Barring Service DBS checks guidance for employers, 2013
  • Oversee the assessment process undertaken by Children’s home staff for risk

assessments, referrals for placements, behavior management plans and any other assessment process relevant to the Home.

  • Manage the development of care plans to meet individual needs of the children through partnership working with Social Workers and other
  • Present monthly reports for each child in a child-friendly style to Social Workers, family, and other agencies in order to identify progress of current care plan and any additional
  • Manage transition plans and post-care support, promoting consistency in transition either back to family care or towards
  • Promote the organization therapeutic models
  • To develop, motivate and enable staff to maximize their skills and experience in their

role, through training and supervision.

  • Supervision of staff and promotion of CPD and PDR’s. Manage and promote staff wellbeing, monitor sickness and OH
  • To produce and implement business plan for the home and contribute to the development plan of the
  • To manage budget and finance
  • Be responsible for building management, Health and Safety, including Fire safety, accident reporting, RIDDOR notifications and Emergency
  • Manage staff recruitment for the Home and assist other homes
  • To be directly responsible for effective management of the Children’s Home and its

staff to safeguard children and achieve best outcomes for them.

  • To manage and monitor
  • Conduct investigations, report writing for disciplinary procedures and grievances and chairing disciplinary meetings within the service and
  • To work in any of the other Children’s Homes on a short term or long term basis

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED :-

 Sound knowledge & working experience of Children’s Homes guidance &

  • Working knowledge of the Children Act 1989, National Care Standards Act 2004 & Children’s Home Regulations and quality standards,
  • Awareness of Ofsted
  • Knowledge and experience of supervising staff, ensuring

that supervision supports both good practice
