Location: Tendring area, Essex
Salary: £16–£18 per hour (DOE) + Incentive Bonus
Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week (includes evenings & weekends)
Start Date: January–February 2026
Holidays: 28 days
Restaurant Opening: 7 days a week (closed Christmas Day & New Year’s Eve)
Overview
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Restaurant Manager to lead the operations of our clients brand-new restaurant opening soon. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about delivering exceptional hospitality.
The ideal candidate will have strong leadership abilities, excellent customer service standards, and the experience to manage staff, operations, and service delivery to ensure every guest enjoys an outstanding experience.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Service Management
- Oversee daily restaurant operations to ensure smooth, efficient, and high-quality service.
- Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and hygiene.
- Handle customer enquiries, complaints, and feedback professionally.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and food hygiene regulations.
Team Leadership
- Recruit, train, supervise, and motivate front-of-house staff.
- Create shift rotas and manage staffing levels to meet business needs.
- Conduct regular team meetings and ongoing performance reviews.
- Promote a positive and collaborative working environment.
Financial & Business Management
- Monitor budgets, payroll, and operational costs.
- Manage stock levels and oversee ordering, deliveries, and inventory control.
- Analyse sales reports and contribute to strategies that drive revenue and efficiency.
- Support with menu development, promotional activities and events where required.
Customer Experience
- Lead by example to deliver exceptional levels of hospitality.
- Build strong relationships with regular customers and local suppliers.
- Maintain a clean, welcoming, and well-organised dining environment.
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience as a Restaurant Manager, Assistant Manager, or similar role.
- Strong leadership, organisational, and people-management skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Good understanding of budgeting, stock control, and financial reporting.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and health & safety regulations.
