Senior Accountant Job Role
· Review & Oversight: Oversee and validate bookkeeping records prepared by junior accountants to ensure accuracy and compliance with company standards and legal requirements.
· Credit Control: Manage the company’s credit portfolio by regularly assessing credit risks, setting credit limits, and ensuring timely debt collection.
· Costing: Analyse costs and evaluate the profitability of products, services, and projects, providing data-driven insights to management.
· Budgeting: Lead the annual budgeting process, liaising with various departments, and ensuring alignment with the company's strategic objectives.
· Refunds & Payments: Supervise and manage all company refunds and payments, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
· Warehouse Expenses Control: Oversee and manage the expenses associated with multi-warehouses, ensuring efficient allocation and use of resources.
· Internal Audits: Lead and execute internal audits to assess the efficiency of operations, the accuracy of financial data, and compliance with relevant laws and policies.
· Management Accounts: Prepare monthly management accounts, providing a clear snapshot of the company’s financial status and performance.
· Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of UK taxation and accountancy procedures, ensuring company compliance and guiding the organization through regulatory changes.
· Continuous Improvement: Recommend and implement best practices in accounting processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Senior Accountant Skills Required
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field. A Master’s degree or relevant certifications will be an added advantage.
· At least 3 years experience in the accounting sector
· Proven experience in a similar senior accountant role, preferably in the manufacturing or production sector.
· Comprehensive knowledge of UK taxation and accountancy procedures.
· Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
· Proficiency in accounting software and other financial systems.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
