JOB TITLE:   SMT Technician

 

 MAIN PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF THE JOB

Assist with the day-to-day running within Surface Mount Department working on our two production lines and all other peripheral equipment producing a very large range of mixed technology printed circuit assemblies, often to very tight deadlines. The Department supports the demands of Two Production departments as well as NPI (New Product Introduction) R&D (Research and Development) and NTG (New Technologies) departments.

DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To assist with the day to day operations of the UK based SMT department. The line produces a very large range of multilayer, double sided, mixed-technology printed circuit assemblies, often on very tight time scales.

 

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience in working in an SMT environment.
  • Experience of the day to day running of SMT equipment.
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Highly motivated with a willingness to learn and be open to learning new techniques/processes
  • Good rework and soldering skills
  • Good people skills and a strong team player with ability to interact with staff at all levels.
  • Operation and adjustment and programming of all SMT equipment.
  • Must be able to read and understand documentation such as Bill of Materials, work instructions and Drawings.
  • Must be confident to hand place and solder SMT components accurately onto circuit assemblies
