Buyer Stock Controller
Location: Essex CO5 area
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm
Salary: Depending on experience, with openness to discuss for the right candidate

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established company in the packaging industry looking for an organised and proactive Buyer Stock Controller to join their team in the Essex CO5 area. This role offers a great opportunity to work Monday to Friday with a supportive environment and a salary that reflects your experience and skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Sourcing New Products

  • Research and source new products to add to stock, including one-off special items and potential core range additions

  • Identify trending, high-value products in the industry and support the sales team by educating them on these products

  • Stay up to date with market trends and procurement best practices

Sourcing New Suppliers

  • Regularly find and evaluate new suppliers based on price, quality, service, and reliability

  • Obtain competitive quotes and negotiate favourable terms

Stock Control

  • Manage stock levels to ensure optimal availability and cost efficiency

  • Use data to make informed buying decisions and forecast replenishment needs

  • Ensure orders are placed and received on time to meet business demands

  • Negotiate contracts and maintain strong supplier relationships

Product Training

  • Organise product training sessions for sales representatives

General Administration

  • Place purchase orders, create and maintain product codes and descriptions in the system

  • Monitor and chase orders, updating the team as required

  • Manage returns and supplier credits efficiently

Team Collaboration

  • Communicate stock updates and delivery timelines with sales, accounts, and warehouse teams

  • Work closely with sales to maximise order profitability and coordinate with accounts on financial matters

  • Liaise with warehouse to resolve any stock discrepancies

This role requires someone willing to learn about the product range and adapt to the needs of the business.
