Top Job recruitment is currently looking for enthusiastic individuals to work in a therapeutic children’s home in Sandwich. 

Your main role as a support worker will be to support the young people with their well-being physically and mentally. A lot of the children have been through some sort of emotional trauma so you will be required to provide a safe space for them.

A successful candidate will be understanding and have the ability to be a positive listener and role model for the children.

Roles and Responsibilities-

  • Provide a safe environment where young people can grow and develop.
  • Help the young people become self-aware and help them deal with underlying trauma, loss and neglect.
  • Record and write up about the children’s progress.
  • Report all safeguarding concerns to a senior member of the team.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment within the home.
  • Support the young people in their education but also have fun with them and take them on days out.
  • Talk to parents and social workers about any relevant issues.
  • Accompany young people to appointments.

Qualifications-

  • QCF level 3 in Health and Social Care children and young people or equivalent
  • within 2 years of confirmation of employment
  • Working knowledge of caring for vulnerable children in a residential setting
  • Knowledge of equal opportunities & diversity
  • Knowledge of The Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 & Guide to
  • the Children’s Homes Regulations including the Quality Standards
  •
