Top Job Recruitment are looking for a Team Leader for a Children’s Home-based in Canterbury, Kent.

You may be a Senior Support Worker and would like to take the leap into a more senior position! 

The home specialises in helping young people who have complex needs. Their needs may be behavioural, emotional, social, learning, physical, or a combination. They build care around the unique situation and individual circumstances of each child by providing frontline fostering, educational, and care services.

If you are experienced with maintaining the smooth running of the home by promoting a harmonious culture by coordinating, supervising, directing, and facilitating a team then this could be the role for you.

Job Role:

Creating a safe environment in which the children and young people feel emotionally & physically secure.

Ensure that the young person’s primary and developmental needs are the priority.

Creating a safe environment in which the children feel emotionally & physically secure.

Monitor & review effective procedures to manage all Health & Safety requirements of the home in line with legal requirements.

Take responsibility for ensuring all correct procedures are followed while leading the staff team on shift.

Monitor and evaluate clear Child protection procedures within the home.

As part of the management team, under the guidance and facilitation of the Home Manager take part in the compilation of all staff rosters as required and directed.

Take responsibility for ensuring all correct emergency procedures are followed while leading the staff team on shift.

Skills Required

Experience in operational & strategic management skills of children, staff & service Resources.

Experience of working with abused or emotional behaviour's children in a residential setting.

The ability to organise, plan and take responsibility.

The ability to motivate, aid, and guide children in their self-development.

Child-related/Social care qualifications – (Desirable)

Experience in facilitating, organising and directing & developing teams.
