Job Description:

Salary: £24,500 – £30,000 (depending on experience)

  • Temporary Contract: 3 months
  • Start date: ASAP, ideally before w/c 20th or 27th October.

Top Job recruitment are recruiting for an Temporary IT Field Engineer to assist with the rollout of new computer systems across our client’s branch network, group services, and valuation remote workers. This role is key to supporting the Windows 11 and Office 2024 upgrade programme, ensuring all users are upgraded smoothly, with minimal disruption and excellent service. This is a 3-month temporary role, starting as soon as possible. Training will be provided and must take place before the project starts from 3rd November.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the rollout of Windows 11 and Office 2024 upgrades across more than 200 branches.
  • Carry out on-site visits to complete upgrades, provide technical support, and deliver a high standard of customer service.
  • Work from Head Office (Colchester) when not travelling to complete device builds, configurations, and testing.
  • Coordinate with the Procurement Team on scheduling, task updates, and branch visit confirmations.
  • Manage hardware logistics, including collection and transport of legacy equipment to storage.
  • Provide general IT support, including rebuilds, re-images, and other BAU technical tasks.
  • Maintain professional cable management and workstation setup standards.

Skills & Experience

  • Technical Expertise: Good knowledge of Windows 10/11 and iOS systems.
  • Hardware: Strong troubleshooting skills, experienced with rebuilds, re-images, and device setup.
  • Microsoft Office: Proficient with Office 2016–2024, 365, OneDrive, and Teams.
  • Active Directory: Understanding of user management, group policies, and device administration.
  • Networking: Knowledge of TCP/IP, routers, switches, Wi-Fi, and cabling.
  • Deployment: Experience supporting system rollouts and migrations.
  • Communication: Clear, professional communicator with strong customer service focus.
