Top Job Recruitment are looking for a Trainee Furniture Assembler to work within a productive and well-established family business based in Colchester. 

If you have a qualification in carpentry and are a college leaver then this role could be ideal.

Job Role:

  • Assembling of kitchen and bedroom carcasses for lay-on and in-frame kitchens
  • Wrapping and arranging items for delivery
  • Liaising with Goods Inwards for stock items
  • Drilling doors for units
  • Checking items prior to delivery
  • Learning product knowledge

Other duties:

  • Occasional loading and unloading of vehicles for incoming/outgoing deliveries (NB should be able to lift heavy items)
  • Forklift, first aid, fire training, and other training opportunities available
  • Future opportunities available to learn other aspects of the manufacturing process
  • Any additional duties required

The applicant for this position will be organised, a quick learner and have exceptionally high attention to detail.  They will be willing and able to learn new products and have good numeracy and literacy skills.  They will be able to retain information easily and have good communication skills with a range of different people to include office staff, other team members within the factory and customers.  Their focus will be on a team goal and they will be able to work under their own initiative.    

Candidates should have some practical experience of working with wood either professionally or in their spare time; however, experience of joinery or carpentry would be extremely beneficial.
