Job Description

Job Title:
Warehouse Assistant

Salary:
Dependent on experience – we are more interested in attitude and someone willing to learn.

Job Purpose:
Your responsibilities include day-to-day order picking and fulfilment, dispatch management, checking and putting away deliveries, and ensuring the organisation of the warehouse is well-kept.

Department/Location:
Kelvedon, Essex

Hours of Work:
Monday-Friday 8.30am-5pm

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with regular stock takes to help maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Ensure delivered goods are checked, signed for, and put away correctly.
  • Pick goods against the customer delivery note – then dispatch via a pallet, carrier, post, or our own vehicles, depending on weight, bulk, and locality.
  • Load the vehicles for the next round of delivery runs, ensuring the appropriate vehicles are used depending on the weight and bulk of the total dispatch.
  • Ensuring the warehouse is kept tidy and organised at all times.
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times.

Person Specification:

Essential Skills:

  • Attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently but also work well with others.
  • Great sense of humour.
  • Willing to get stuck into anything and learn new skills (most crucial in an SME business).

Desired Skills:

  • Driving Licence – the premises are in a remote area with no access to public transport, so being able to get here is essential.
  • Forklift licence.

Personal Qualities:

  • Willingness to undertake training and expand skills.
  • Has the motivation and drive to get stuck into anything and learn new skills – we want our staff to be long-term so we promote within.
  • Great sense of humour – we are a friendly bunch who believe the workplace should be a happy place to work, so it’s important you are able to fit in.
