Top Job Recruitment are looking for a Workshop Fitter/Welder for a company based in Colchester.

If you are a experienced welder and want to further your career into mechanical fitting then this could be the role for you.  

Workshop Fitter/Welder Job Role:

  • Be a very confident MIG and TIG welder
  • Be confident in reading drawings and with or without a jig.
  • Be experienced in other processes, e.g. general machine tools, drills etc
  • You will also be expected to learn all aspects of manufacturing/production and warehousing to support the manufacturing team.
  • Resolve any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise at any time
  • Thinking both creatively and logically to help your team resolve design and development problems.
  • Use of hand tools and other workshop equipment to produce completed finished goods for clients.
  • Be able to visually inspect finished products and compare them with requirements to determine if the process has been completed properly.
  • Must have ability to undertake manual handling duties.

Workshop Fitter/Welder Experience Required:

  • Qualified in MIG & TIG welder
  • Experience of assembly is desirable.
  • Accurate and timely setting out of your own work schedule
  • Timely handover of works and Quality records without outstanding defects
  • You must have good communication and interpersonal skills, be self-motivated, and have a structured approach to planning and managing your own workload.
  • Flexibility and ‘can do’ attitude is also essential.
